Winback IQ
Help & FAQ
What does Winback IQ do?
It reads your own Shopify order history and scores every customer on Recency, Frequency and Monetary value (RFM). It sorts them into 8 lifecycle segments and surfaces the customers slipping away, ranked by the revenue you stand to lose. It is an analysis and worklist tool — a transparent classification of your past orders, not a churn forecast, and it makes no guarantee of any win-back or revenue result.
How do I set it up?
There is no configuration. Install the app, open it, and press "Analyze my customers." The analysis runs in the background from your existing order history and populates the dashboard, segments and win-back worklist. Re-run it any time to refresh.
Exactly what customer data does it use, and how is it protected?
The app requests read_orders and read_customers, which makes it a Protected Customer Data Level 2 (customer identity) app at the access boundary. But it is aggregate-and-discard at storage: it reads orders and customer identifiers transiently to compute the scores, then keeps only an opaque Shopify customer ID plus numeric aggregates (recency, order count, total spend, R/F/M scores, segment, revenue at risk). It never stores customer names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, payment details or line items in its database or logs. All data moves over encrypted HTTPS and tokens stay server-side.
Does it use AI?
No. Winback IQ uses a deterministic RFM algorithm running on our own servers. There is no AI or large-language-model involved, and no customer data is sent to any AI provider.
Does it send emails to my customers?
No. Winback IQ never sends emails, SMS or any messages to your customers. It prepares the segments and worklist. On Pro it writes each customer's segment back as a Shopify customer tag (WinbackIQ:<Segment>) so you can build the actual outreach in Klaviyo, Shopify Email or any tool that reads tags — where you remain the sender and the data controller and are responsible for consent and anti-spam compliance.
What's free and what's paid?
Free ($0) gives you unlimited RFM analysis, all 8 lifecycle segments with revenue-at-risk, and the win-back worklist. Pro ($29/month) adds syncing win-back segments to Shopify customer tags plus CSV worklist export. Scale ($59/month) adds a daily scheduled re-analysis with automatic tag sync, syncing any or all 8 segments, and an on-demand per-segment tag push. Paid plans are billed via Shopify and you can cancel anytime.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Uninstalling cancels any paid subscription and triggers deletion of your stored data. We honor Shopify's GDPR webhooks: customers/redact deletes a customer's aggregate rows, and shop/redact cascade-deletes every row for your shop (Shopify sends this about 48 hours after uninstall). Since we hold no customer PII, a data_request has no personal data to assemble.
